Biography

Dr. Kannadath is an experienced medical doctor and AI researcher, with a deep passion for improving patient outcomes and clinical workflow. He did his medical training from Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research in Pondicherry India and after multiple years of practice in India joined the University of Texas School of Biomedical Informatics at Houston where he earned his Masters while simultaneously working as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.

Leveraging his wealth of clinical experience and knowledge in informatics and data analytics, Dr. Kannadath focuses on developing predictive algorithms and tracking systems to streamline routine tasks and reduce the workload of clinical staff. His research is dedicated to improving patient outcomes by developing and implementing machine learning algorithms, with a particular emphasis on deriving clinically explainable insights that can enhance medical knowledge and minimize the potential for harm.

Aside from his research, Dr. Kannadath is also passionate about mentoring students in clinical outcomes research and collaborating and consulting on data science projects across various medical sub-specialties. He also teaches short courses on data-driven research and the principles and practice of effective data visualizations. Through his work, he combines his expertise in medicine and AI to advance healthcare and positively impact the lives of patients.
