Dr. “Jed” Maddela currently serves as one of the Chief Health Informatics Officers for the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA). As a champion for high reliability, change management, and lean process improvement, he is also tasked with modernizing electronic health records for Southern Arizona.
Prior to his current roles, Jed practiced outpatient family medicine for a federally qualified health center in Central Arizona caring for a panel of over 1,700 patients while also serving on the board of directors for its charitable foundation. Simultaneously, he precepted medical students at the University of Arizona and became the Assistant Director of the College of Medicine's Doctoring Curriculum all before completing a two-year ACGME-accredited Clinical Informatics Fellowship for physicians as one of its inaugural fellows.
In addition to his clinical and academic responsibilities, Jed's community service in Arizona was honored by receiving the City of Tempe’s Martin Luther King Jr. Diversity Award. He was also recognized as one of Phoenix Business Journal’s 40 Under 40.
Dr. Maddela is double board certified through the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Board of Preventive Medicine. He maintains faculty appointment at both our Phoenix and Tucson campuses.
Lastly, Jed is a graduate the Health Care Leadership Development Program (HCLDP), a Prosci Change Management Practitioner, Lean Black Belt Certified, and distinguished faculty for the National Organization for Leadership and Analytics University (NOLA U) for the VA.
